Ladies and men’s singles
Form, style, technique, concentration and the ability to perform under pressure are key requirements for ladies and men’s singles skaters. Programs showcase the elegance, athleticism and talent synonymous with the sport of figure skating. Athletes perform in two competitive segments, the short program and the free skate, on separate days. Come check out the singles competitions if you love the power and beauty of figure skating!
Pairs figure skating combines the athleticism of singles skating with the precision of ice dance, mixed with the death-defying acrobatics of overhead lifts, twists and throws. The athletes’ movements are performed in unison to demonstrate exact timing between the partners in both the short program and the free skate. If you love a thrill, the pairs events are not to be missed!
If you love “Dancing with the Stars,” ice dance is for you! Unlike pairs skating, ice dance is based on aspects of dance including rhythm, interpretation and precision. Its beauty lies in its creativity, choreography and theatrical and innovative aspects. The short dance will feature performances to a required rhythm of blues, swing or hip hop. The free dance will be highlighted by innovative footwork, spins and lifts.
